Schnauzers (and other non-shedding dogs) Looking for Homes

WE REQUIRE A COMPLETED APPLICATION, 3 PERSONAL REFERENCES WHO DO NOT LIVE IN YOUR HOME, ANY BLOOD RELATION OR IN-LAWS.  REFERENCES NEED TO BE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ENOUGH ABOUT YOU TO GIVE A CHARACTER REFERENCE AND KNOW HOW YOU WOULD TREAT AN ANIMAL.  WE REQUIRE A PHONE INTERVIEW AND VIRTUAL HOME VISIT IF YOU ARE NOT IN OUR AREA.

EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THESE RESCUES IS LISTED HERE.  IF YOU EMAIL US ASKING IF WE GOT YOUR APPLICATION, HAS IT BEEN PROCESSED, IF THE DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE OR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DOG IN GENERAL WE WILL NOT REPLY.  WE GIVE YOU ALL DETAILS HERE. AFTER 14 DAYS AND YOU HAVE NOT HEARD FROM US, YOUR APPLICATION WAS NOT CHOSEN. IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU WERE NOT APPROVED, WE HOLD THEM FOR 1 YR.  IT SIMPLY MEANS WE HAVE ONE DOG AND FOUND THE BEST HOME FOR THAT RESCUE.

PLEASE ALLOW US 14 DAYS FROM THE DAY YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION FOR IT TO BE COMPLETED.  THE MOST COMMON HOLD UP ON APPLICATIONS IS YOUR REFERENCES HAVE NO IDEA YOU’VE GIVEN THEIR NAME AND CONTACT INFO.  THEY DO NOT REPLY, OR YOU HAVE GIVEN US THE INCORRECT EMAIL FOR US TO CONTACT THEM. YOU MUST BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIRST ASK YOUR REFERENCE IF YOU MAY USE THEIR NAME, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BOTH EMAIL AND PHONE NUMBER FOR US. AND CHECK THE EMAIL TO ASSURE IT’S CORRECT.  WE DO NOT EMAIL YOU ASKING FOR THE CORRECT INFORMATION.

Hey there folks, I’m JIFFY.  I’m a male neutered Mini Schnauzer.   I am salt/pepper, about 14lbs and  UTD on all my vaccines, rabies, & microchipped.  I’m about 10 yrs old, and still have plenty of love to offer you and your family.  I am heartworm negative and very healthy.  I’m on my monthly preventatives as well.  I recently had a dental with 10 extractions, but I can still eat fine.

I do fine with other dogs, but due to my age, I prefer no large dogs.  I’m not so fond of those furry things called cats, so let’s be honest, I need a home with them.  I do love kids over 8 and any person who shows me attention.  I love riding in the car and taking walks.

My previous owner was over 80 yrs old and she didn’t walk me, she allowed me to go in the yar a few minutes and return to the door.  I think I’m probably best suited for short walks and let me tell you, I love to sit with you while you watch TV, read a book or just sit near me.  I’ve always lived in a quiet place with just my owner.  She got very ill and the family put her in this placed called a nursing home.  She wasn’t able to care for herself any longer or me after her hospital stay.  So she took me to my vet and ask them to find me a good home and that’s how I found these wonderful folks at this rescue.  They got me all cleaned up and groomed, then took me to the vet to get my toofy’s cleaned, but I had a lot of them which needed to be extracted.  Hey but that’s okay, I still eat fine and have no trouble finding the feeding bowl.  I’m not super active, but I love to be around people and other dogs.  I even play with a couple in my foster home.  And one of my most important requirements…. I want to sleep with my hooomansss.
